I originally started painting small trays that I purchased at a local craft store. Although these felt too flimsy to me I was hooked! I looked for other things to paint. I found second generation chairs and unfinished tables (yes, Ikea!). Friends donated things. I discovered a great unfinished furniture place (not Ikea!). I began to alter what I had by adding frames and accessories. And I worked with some cabinetmaker friends to design new pieces.
At this point I just like to paint furniture, no matter where I can find suitable items. Hopefully, as my work evolves I will work more closely with furniture makers to design more unique pieces.
