About the Author and the Illustrator

GWEN MOLNAR has been a poet, a painter and a writer of children’s books for decades.  She has written three books of children’s poetry, three first-chapter books, one early reader and two mysteries for teens Her works have been read on both Canadian and American children’s television shows and on CBC radio.

BARBARA HARTMANN loves a good story, especially one steeped in fairy tale and fantasy. As well as her many picture books, she has painted whimsical images for paediatric units at three Edmonton hospitals. Like Bygumbo, she is always on the lookout for a good meal!
